We are delighted to announce that Down Syndrome Ireland are charity partners for this year’s All Ireland Business Summit.
Down Syndrome Ireland is a member-based national organisation with over 3,500 member families. The charity is run from a national office and has 25 branches nationwide. Each branch is run by members on a voluntary basis.
Speaking about the announcement, Kathleen Fitzsimons, Fundraising Manager said: “Down Syndrome Ireland is very proud to be the 2016 All Ireland Business Summit Charity Partner on Thursday 14th April in Croke Park. This is a very important platform for Down Syndrome Ireland and its members; it is going to create huge awareness.”
“We are dedicated to being the primary source of expertise, support and information to people with Down syndrome, their families and the professional community,” said Ms Fitzsimons, adding that they must raise 97% of the funds needed annually themselves.
The charity have moved to new premises recently which has allowed them to provide increased number of services to members.
“We are working to achieve an optimal quality of life for people with Down Syndrome, as equally valued, independent citizens. The All Ireland Business Summit will give us the opportunity to showcase the work that we do and create a platform to engage with new organisations,” she said.
